I've just visited the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) located behind NBL, off Peculiar Ministry, Ogbor Hill, Aba, and I am happy with the number of persons who came voluntarily to be tested for COVID-19.
Our people must take this virus seriously and protect themselves. Driving through Aba my heart bled because of the number of people who were moving about unprotected. Many who pretended to be wearing face mask ended up putting them on their jaws. If only they know and see the stats we review daily they won’t need anyone in government to tell them to protect themselves from Coronavirus.
With this attitude, Aba is likely to end up as the epicenter of the disease in the southeast before the end of this month unless our people change their attitude immediately.
We will continue to do our best to sensitize our people and also start fresh enforcement activities but ultimately only the people can help and save themselves.
Let nobody complain when enforcement activities are raised to the highest level in Aba.
