The National and State Executive of the Law Students Association of Nigeria has commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his numerous developmental strides in all facets of the state economy.
LAWSAN made the commendation on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere at government house, Umuahia.
Emmanuel Nwobodo, who led the National and State Executives of LAWSA, pointed out that Governor Ikpeazu, through his outstanding achievements has endeared himself more to abians.
Comrade Nwobodo while describing LAWSAN as the umbrella body of law students formed to represent and promote the interest of undergraduate law students across the country, seeking the development of law students and also provide support to enable them to become successful lawyers, disclosed their readiness to partner the state government in their program tagged "LAWSAN GOES TO SCHOOL", which is part of LAWSAN's corporate social responsibility premised on its understanding of the need to give back to the society as well as enable secondary school students to know the law and have a copy of the Nigerian constitution.
He further used the opportunity to felicitate with Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Governor as well as solicit the assistance of the State government towards their southeast Zonal convention slated to hold between the 20th - 23rd of May, 2020.
Responding, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere who welcomed the LAWSAN National and State Executive to government house, Umuahia, described the law as an indivisible aspect of a people, maintaining that the peace and development of any society are anchored on the existence of an enabling environment for impactful legal education.
Dr. Agbazuere appreciated the Association for coming to identify with him and urged them to take their studies seriously and remain good ambassadors and law-abiding citizens of the nation.
The visit which featured the presentation of a copy of the LAWSAN OF OUR DREAM publication to the Chief of Staff by the students attracted the presence of the commissioner for SME Development, Mr. Onyema Wachukwu, The DG, Abia State Orientation Agency, Mr. Godwin Adindu among other top government functionaries.
