Dr. Anthony Agbazuere is a human rights lawyer, a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a former commissioner for information, culture, and tourism.
Reasons, why Agbazuere, who is the immediate past executive chairman of Isiala Ngwa South LGA should be supported to represent the people of Isiala Ngwa North/South at the green chamber of the national assembly, are not far-fetched.
If from 2007 till date is enough for me to start x-raying the achievements of past and present members that represented/representing my Isiala Ngwa at the National Assembly, then, permit me to say that, we the electorates (from the delegates) have made very great mistakes, which, if we don't make corrections now, our generation unborn will never forgive us.
When I go through the bills and motions being read in the House, I discovered that no meaningful motion or bill has risen from this constituency. It has been a dormant representation for our people.
That we are not being properly represented is our fault, and I see 2019 as an opportunity for us to right our wrongs by electing Dr. ACB Agbazuere to give adequate representation.
What difference will Agbazuere make if given the opportunity to go there and represent our people?
A few months back, I queried our outgoing house representatives member, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha and his campaign (media) team on why we are not feeling (positively) the impact of the mandate we gave to him in 2015 since the 2015-2017 budgets were approved, having seen the scorecards of other PDP house of representatives members like Hon. Uko Nkole.
The very first answer I got is that "the primary duty of a legislator is to make laws."
And, till date, I never doubted that fact! Let the truth be told, if the primary duty of a legislature is to make laws then, it's best that we send a learned man like Agbazuere, who is not just smart, but also, outspoken.
It is also on record that while other lawmakers whom their primary duties are also to make laws have verifiable projects all over their constituency, I will use Uko Nkole again as an example.
In Isiala Ngwa, over 300m has been allocated to us for procurement of empowerment materials like a tricycle, grinding machines, etc (source: tracka.ng) yet, they are nowhere to get found.
If there's anybody from the 20 INEC wards in Isiala Ngwa that got one Keke from Darloo out of the 50m giving to him for empowering, let the person come and I shall thank Darloo immensely.
Despite receiving N100million in 2016, N110million in
2017 and N113million in 2018 for constituency projects, other lawmakers have been able to achieve a lot for the people and promise to do more when re-elected. Now my questions is, are we still going to reelect somebody like Darlington Nwokocha, who is also using his inability to meet President Buhari face to face as an excuse for his underperforming cum gross incompetence? The answer is NO!
The ACB I know, if given the opportunity to go to Abuja and represent us, apart from making laws as a legislature, he will also attract the presence of the federal government to Okpokiri, Umuhu, Umuetegha, Ndiolumbe-Omoba, Umuguru, Umuati, Umuamacha roads, etc! That'd help in complimenting the giant efforts of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in Abia state.
He will also, ensure that our youths get juicy offices in the federal civil service commission, originate bills that will affect our lives positively.
In my very small apartment, while focusing on the television, I have seen so many vibrant legislatures like Hon. Uko Nkoke, Hon. Solomon Adaelu, Hon. Abonta Nkem Uzuoma moving motions in the house, So why do you think Darloo cannot do the same thing if he is not a "Sidon de look"legislature? I think there are many factors that are affecting us here which I have proffered Dr. Agbazuere as the solution.
The person in my constituency is a very young incompetent gentleman (As far as Isiala Ngwa Fed. Constituency is a concern), but I think he will do more than he has been doing if he comes back and concentrates fully on his scent leaf business.
ACB is energetic and can relate more with the youths in our constituency; so far, I think he will do better than what Darloo is doing. He has all it takes!
If you are not performing well, it’s for the electorate to kick you out.
Let's not take money from anybody so that our conscience will be satisfied. Let's exercise our civil right and send the right choice to Abuja.
Dear youths, every day, the NDDC gives out scholarships to students. Other agencies in government also provide employment opportunities and jobs to the people. I think these opportunities have not been exploited by us. We have various opportunities coming from various sectors but they have not been exploited.
Fellow tomorrow leaders, I want us to vote wisely so as to have a good representation when the election comes. We must not all allow ourselves be stampeded on or weakened by money bags for us to be properly represented; because if we give out your votes then, we cannot blame the man that gave us money responsible.
