As Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu enters his second year of second term in office, the Transition Committee Chairman of Isuikuwato L.G.A, of Abia State, Hon. Osita Igbe has lauded the governor for ensuring a more cordial and sustained relationship with labour unions and maintaining the status quo in the payment of workers' remunerations in his second term.
Hon. Igbe who gave an assessment of the performance of the governor while interacting with newsmen in the state, lauded the governor for prompt payment of salaries of workers and his brave moves to ensure that the issue of delayed payment of pension is subdued.
Hon. Igbe said, "No doubt the governor has done well in various areas but most importantly is the peace we now enjoy in the state; it is indeed commendable. Prompt payment of salaries of workers have improved the personal income of the individuals and that of the state in general".
He listed the strides of the governor to include the subvention to Abia State University Uturu, which served as a boost to the morale of the staff; recently awarded Ngwa, Obioha, Ohanku Port Harcourt and Uretta roads; Osisioma Ngwa flyover which is on going: sponsoring of some Abians to China to learn garment production; actualization of Abiriba ring road; Nkporo-Abiriba road, which is at its completion; Amaekpu Ohafia ring road.

Re- asphalting of umuocham road, Aba road to shop rite, school road, ehi road, tenants road, Cameron road, jubilee road, st Michael's road, ongoing construction of Osusu road, Ojike street, Miverton road, Emelogu road by Ogbor Hill, Opopo road by Ogbor Hill, Egege street by Umuoba road, Ururuka road, Abiriba ring road, Nkporo ring road, Immaculate Heart road Aba, Ekeakpara road, Aro Ngwa/Osokwa to Umuoba road, Umuopara ring road Umuahia.
Others listed include, two million palm seed of tenera, poultry cluster at Nsulu, reopening of Golden Guinea brewery, garment factory in Umuobiakwa, automobile shoe factory, renovation of Enyimba stadium and redesigning of Isi Gate Umuahia.
Hon. Igbe commended the working relationship existing between the governor and his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu and insisted that the governor’s development strides in his first tenure warranted his re-election.
The Isuikuwato council boss urged the citizens of the state to support and cooperate with Gov. Ikpeazu and his team in order to succeed in the second term.
Moreover, he enjoined Abians to support the state government in the fight against the spread of Corona Virus Disease, COVID-19 and commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for dogged effort in his fight against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state, adding that the present administration led by Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has put measures in place to ensure pandemic currently ravaging the world.
