The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said that his administration will continue to partner local and International Non-Governmental Organizations to effectively harmonize charity works in other to continue reaching out to the less privileged in the society.
Governor Ikpeazu said this on Thursday at Umuakwu Nsulu in Isialangwa North Local Government Area during a grand civic reception organized by the Umuakwu Progressive Union in honor of their son and founder of NCHETA OMEREKPE FOUNDATION, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe.
He maintained that his administration is not relenting on any of its developmental promises.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. A. C. B Agbazuere, Governor Ikpeazu commended Chief Ncheta Omerekpe for his community development efforts geared towards bettering the lots of not just the people of Umuakwu Nsulu alone but the state at large as well as complementing the efforts of the present administration in transforming rural communities and for also giving the people of the area a sense of belonging.
The Chief Executive Officer while describing Chief Ncheta Omerekpe as a worthy son of Abia state who has the interest of his people at heart called on other well-meaning Abians to emulate his sterling qualities for the overall good and development of the state.
In their separate speeches, the senator representing Abia South Senatorial district, H.E Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Member representing Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, the traditional ruler of Umuakwu Nsulu, Eze Dr. Uchechi Aliche, among others, lauded Chief Ncheta Omerekpe for his philanthropic gestures as well as affecting and influencing the lives of his people positively also prayed God to continue to bless him.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman on the occasion, Elder Chibuike Nwokeukwu who described the Umuakwu Progressive Union day as an annual event disclosed that they decided to honor their son, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe based on his developmental and infrastructural strides across the nine villages that make up Umuakwu Nsulu.
In a vote of thanks, the celebrant and founder of NCHETA OMEREKPE FOUNDATION, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe while enumerating some of his philanthropic gestures to his people including the installation of solar street lights, drilling of boreholes, provision of free medical services, construction of roads, skill acquisition and empowerment for youths among others he attracted from the Federal Government Agencies, appreciated God for his blessings as well as his people for the honor done him.
The event which attracted the cream of personalities across the country featured goodwill messages and the conferment of chieftaincy title of ODOZI OBODO on Chief Ncheta Omerekpe by the traditional ruler of Umuakwu Nsulu, Eze Uchechi Aliche.
