The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has called on Christians to use the period of Christmas to show love to one another as well as affect lives positively.

Gov. Ikpeazu made the call on Sunday during a program tagged "One by One", organized by the Church of Jesus Christ if Latter Fay Saints, Market Road, Umuahia.

Delivering his " Light The World 2019" keynote address, the Governor charged Christians to always reflect on the circumstances surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ and use the period of Christmas to show love especially to the less privileged in the society.

The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere commended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for organizing the program. Describing the theme as apt, Governor Ikpeazu also harped on the need for all to live exemplary lives worthy of a true Christian.

In his remark, the Umuahia State President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mr Samuel Ekpolo disclosed that the program which is an annual event is organized to teach Christians the essence and the need to be conscious of the type of life they live especially during the Christmas period and wished all a Merry Christmas in advance.

The event featured goodwill messages, the lighting of a candle by the Governor, choral renditions by the Multi-State Choir of the church among others.
