Abia Lawmaker Bags NUJ's "Best Investor Of The Year" Award.

The member representing Ohafia North State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly and Chairman of South Asia Hotel, Hon. Mandela Obasi has been recognized and conferred the prestigious award as the BEST INVESTOR of the year by the Abia State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalist(NUJ) during their 2019 Media Summit that held in Umuahia.

The House member who is also the MD of Chen Yen Lan Nigeria Limited and Manduru Nig. Ltd is renowned for his investment in the hospitality industry and his import and Export Trade.

Presenting the award to Hon Mandela Obasi, the  Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt Hon Sir Ude Oko Chukwu who represented the Governor at the event extolled the contributions of the House Member to the state and in job creation through his investments in the state.

"On behave of NUJ I make this presentation to you for your investment in the state and for your contribution to job creation, congratulations"

In his response, Hon Mandela, who is also the Chairman of Evergreen Hotels located in Aba and Umuahia, promised to continue to support the Made in Abia and Think home policy of the Governor by bringing more of his investment to the State and to create more jobs for our youths.

He dedicated the award to the Management and staff of Evergreen Hotels, South Asia Hotels and Soul Train Event center.

The Soul train Event center boss thanked the NUJ Abia Council for the award and assured them of the days of his company towards achieving the lofty dreams of the union. He further made a financial donation to assist the NUJ Abia Council to replace their Computers, Furniture and other working tools which they solicited for assistance to replace.

Other award recipients are Rep. Sam Onuigbo, member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Dr. Philips O. Nto, Prof .E. U. Ikonne the Vice-Chancellor of ABSU, Eze Igwe Ojike, Sir Johnson O. Onuigbo Abia State  PDP Chairman, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, and others.
