15 Years After His First Brand Endorsement, 2Baba Secures oraimo Deal

It was the most looked forward to the event as fans had eagerly awaited the announcement. In the preceding weeks, premium smart accessories provider oraimo had teased with the #BeTheKing campaign, promising to unveil the “King of Gbedu” as its first-ever brand ambassador. On Friday 27th September 2019, all eyes were on the brand to witness this historic event scheduled to take place at the spanking new “The Providence Hotel by Mantis”. Right there with top executives, distributors of the brand, partners and media personalities; oraimo announced the legendary 2Baba as its brand ambassador.

It was not a far-fetched idea to choose 2Baba as oraimo’s brand ambassador - for twenty years now, he has been the most celebrated Nigerian entertainer, selling out arenas, providing wholesome music and still retaining his easygoing mien. His debut single, African Queen, is a classic across the African continent and could very well be the forerunner of the recent renaissance of Nigerian music. Since 2oo4, he has released eight albums and dozens of chart-topping singles. If ever there was a hall of fame for Nigerian music, 2Baba definitely would be one of the first inductees.

For oraimo, the mantra “Keep Exploring” could not have been better exemplified by the artiste that is 2Baba. Over the decades, he has evolved with the times and has the same time retained his je ne sais quoi and consistently good music.

The first time 2Baba would be made a brand ambassador was in 2004 when he was named by Guinness for their Xtra Smooth line. He is also signed to telecoms giant Globacom, Star Lager Beer, Campari as well the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Little wonder that he is ranked among the richest musicians in Nigeria with an estimated 400-700 million naira fortune.
At his unveiling as oraimo's brand ambassador, 2Baba spoke of his delight to be able to represent the brand as it fits his lifestyle by playing music on the go with the oraimo range of accessories. “It’s a great partnership that I’m excited about. As a music fan myself, I only need to plug and play without worrying about the quality of sound or material,” he said.

The highlight of the event was when a drone flew into the hall to deliver the special edition Necklace 2 earphone to 2Baba. The limited-edition earphones are not only signed by 2Baba but also gold plated and can last up to 310 hours. It also has an amazing feature where the voice prompt is 2Baba’s. Check it out here.
