The reelection of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu carried a spiritual imprimatur and was already divinely ordained long before the elections proper.
This was the message from the leadership of the Lords Chosen Charismatic Church to the Governor when they paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor's Lodge in Aba last night.
The Abia State Coordinator of the Church who led other senior members of the church on the visit told the Governor that they were there to remind him of the prophesy that he was going to be reelected, which they had told him several months before the election.
According to them, the General Superintendent of their Church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka had mandated them to come to felicitate with the Governor on his victory at the polls, to pray for him and ask for God's guidance as he prepares to commence his second tenure in office, and also to remind him that he must please God by rededicating himself afresh to the service of the people of Abia State.
While there, they put across a call to the Pastor Muoka who spoke with the Governor and also said prayers for him and the state.
The State Coordinator told the Governor that they informed Alex Otti of APGA when he came to their church that God made it clear to them that Ikpeazu will be reelected and that he should forget about being Governor of Abia State at this time.
Prayers were said for the Governor, his family and the entire state.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, in his response thanked the church for standing by him in prayers and recalled that they told him in very clear terms that God had endorsed his reelection and that he believed that prophesy which has today come to pass.
He stated that the story of his life is that of the mercies and grace of God and as a result, he will, at all times, put in his best in the service of the people of Abia State, so as to justify the kindness he has received from God. He restated his absolute faith in God and his preparedness to continue to seek the prayers of Christians.
