There appeared to be more trouble for Senator Ademola Adeleke as detectives from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have commenced investigations into the allegations of certificate forgery against the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun state.
Our correspondent gathered in Osogbo Thursday that policemen from Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos, on Wednesday, visited Ede Muslim High School I, where the principal of the school, Mr. Khalid Abbas, was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Osogbo before being moved to Lagos.
The men, it was further leant also went to the headoffice of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Osogbo, Osun state capital.
When newsmen visited Ede Muslim High School, Ede yesterday, sources in the school confirmed the arrest and the subsequent transfer of the suspect to Osogbo.
A source in the school, who does not want his name in print told journalists who visited the school yesterday that the arrest of the principal was true.
His words: “It is true that policemen from Lagos came to Ede Muslim High School. I was told by the teachers that the policemen came to investigate the secondary school certificate which Senator Ademola Adeleke submitted to INEC.
“They said the signature on the testimonial is different from the notification of result which he submitted. The principal was taken to the police headquarters in Osogbo and he was eventually taken to Alagbon in Lagos.
However, a competent security source in the state police headquarter, also confirmed the arrest and added that the principal was being detained in Alagbon Lagos.
When contacted, the state Police Commissioner, Fimihan Adeoye, said he did not know about incident, adding that he was in Abuja.
