Ikpeazu Is A Great Ambassador Of Christ And The Church, Says President Hersron Byilingiro

The President of Seven Day Adventist Church Mission in Rwanda has extolled the virtues and leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who he described as a worthy ambassador of the Church and Jesus Christ. Pastor Hersron Byilingiro made the comments while receiving the Governor in his office in Kigali.Governor Ikpeazu who was in Kigali on the invitation of President Paul Kagame to attend the 2018 Transform Africa Summit took time off to pay a courtesy visit to the Church leadership in the east African country. Giving a brief background of the work of the church which has been there for about 100 years with over 1 million members, Pastor Hersron Byilingiro stated that the church is in good standing in the country and has contributed immensely to both the spiritual and temporal growth of Rwanda.

 He informed the governor that he church runs on e the best tertiary institutions in the country and due to the quality of their education, the President of Rwanda has invited them to establish a medical school in Kigali.  He further informed the church that due to the heroic acts of some of the church members during the dark days of the genocide, the church has continued to enjoy the respect of he people and government of Rwanda.


Responding, Governor Ikpeazu that as the first Adventist to be elected to such political height he sees his role as mostly that of an ambassador of the church and Christ.

He said that the church is very strong in Nigeria and has also contributed immensely in many sectors like health, education, social welfare etc. The President took Governor Ikpeazu round some of the Church’s medical and educational facilities.
