DID YOU KNOW:

through the effort of Abia state government led by Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu in ensuring quality health care delivery in Abia state, The state was selected among two other states (Niger, Osun) to pilot the BHCPF in 2018?

LET ME GIST YOU...

Few days back, the national Assembly (SENATE)  passed 1% Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) for health in the appropriation act.
The National Health Act sets aside 1% of Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF) for the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF).

Expect quality and strong primary healthcare system, Universal health coverage and health for all in Abia, especially for the rural dwellers that need it more. And our  relatives in the village  will soon stop calling us for financial help for basic medical care because they can walk into the health centers to get free or affordable quality services.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED

 1. 50% of the funds will be used to provide free non communicable diseases check up &prevention, maternal and child health services for rural dwellers

2. 45% will be used for Essential Drugs, Vaccines, Consumables, Maintenance, Equipment, Transportation and development of human resources at the health centers (PHCs).

NOTE:All the money are paid into the 292 ward health centers account in the State.

OVI: Expect more 2019...
