The erstwhile standard bearer on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2015 governorship election in Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, has added another feather to his notorious shuttles in politics and business.
The Arochukwu born banker is currently at loggerheads with the family of his close friend and confidant, the late Chief Otisi Kalu popularly known as Abbot over an alleged plan by Otti to reap where he did not sow.
A petition by the late Kalu’s family before the national secretariat of APGA in Abuja according to dependable sources indicate that Otti has clandestinely taken over the business empire including cash deposits amounting to several millions of naira belonging to his late friend using his contacts in the banking sector.
Otti’s macabre dance started soon after his friend died at a private hospital in the United States in 2015. According to the petition, Otti recruited two lawyers, assigning one of them with the responsibility of collecting rent from the tenants of the deceased and paying over the proceeds to Otti without any authorization from family members.
To make matters worse, the petition alleged that one of the lawyers that is also very close to Otti prepared and forged a will purported to have been emanated from the deceased appointing Otti as his client.
The former APGA governorship hopeful is also been accused of freezing of his late friends bank account in one of the new generation banks without court order thereby frustrating the widow and children of his late friend from gaining access to their inheritance.
Tongues are currently wagging as to the reason behind Otti’s false accusation of his late friend’s children who he had planned to incarcerate by petitioning the FCT command of the Nigeria Police Force on accusation that the deceased children forged their signatures. The Police upon investigation found the allegation to be baseless.
Widow of the late Chief Otisi apprehensive of the unprecedented underground plans lay out by Otti to take over her late husband’s estate and Business Empire wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police for necessary actions. It was gathered that rather than honour IGP invitation, Otti began to call ‘’who is who’’ in Nigeria to secure soft landing.
The widow is also appealing to APGA leadership to use their good offices to prevail on Otti to drop his schemes to take over the businesses and estates of his late husband.
For those who know how close late Abbot was to Otti, what is going on is a manifestation of the scriptural verse which says that ‘’the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked’’. And as Mark Anthony would say in the popular novel –Julius Caesar, ‘’For Brutus as you know was Caesar’s Angels, Judge oh you gods how Caesar loved him, this was the most unkindest cut of all,’’
For a man who was described by an appeal court in Nigeria as a ‘meddlesome interloper ‘it is not strange that Otti is apparently looking for ways of repositioning for 2019 elections financial burden. But such a person should not be allowed to occupy the exalted office of governor by any discerning society.

We have the mandate and consent of the family of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu (Deceased) to write you on the above subject matter as follows:
Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu (Deceased) died on the 20th day of October 2015 in the United States of America, at a time when the expectations of the APGA members were very high in Government of Abia State which Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu worked relentlessly for. Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu was financial member of the board of trustees of APGA, the highest echelon of decision making body of the party.
Sequel to his painful exit, Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu was peacefully buried in his hometown Abiriba. It is pertinent to note, that few officials/members of the BOT of the Party attended the burial. Yet, the members of the family maintained their peace as the vacuum left by the sudden and irretrievable death of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu was still very fresh and was an ever-abiding pain. Therefore, we regret to say that the family expected much more than their un-golden silence after the burial.
The family wishes as a matter of necessity to draw the attention of the party to the relationships of “David and Jonathan” that existed between Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu and Dr. Alex Otti. The duo were always together especially as Dr. Alex Otti emerged the candidate of Abia State Governorship election of 2015. This very cordial relationship was soon to turn into a battle of killing a fly with a sledge hammer. Soon after the death of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu, the bible quotation that says “the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked” began to manifest.
Sir, Dr. Alex Otti is not from Abiriba and he is not a member of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu’s family, either paternal or maternal. Dr. Alex Otti is not a business partner of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu’s company; Konex Associates Limited of No. 126 Bode Thomas Street, Surulere Lagos.
Dr. Alex Otti is not a signatory to any bank account of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu. Dr. Alex Otti is not a Director in any company owned by Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu. The above is to demonstrate beyond doubts to your good selves that Dr. Alex Otti is a complete stranger in the family matters of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu and is an alien to the business empire of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu.
Now notwithstanding the above, Dr. Alex Otti an Honorable man and a notable member of APGA in Abia State embarked on a dishonorable voyage of taking over the estate of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu using his contact in the banking system. Dr. Alex Otti in order to actualize his mission recruited two lawyers, the first lawyer is Barr. Odutola Adetokunbo and the second is Barr. Ken Ahia. These two lawyers contrary to all known rules of professional ethics agreed to carry out the most diabolical and heinous crimes of forgeries and diversion of several millions of naira.
Barrister Odutola Adetokunbo without the authority of the family started collecting rent from the tenants of the Deceased Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu and was paying over the proceeds to Dr. Alex Otti who assured him that, he, Alex Otti had the authority of the family.
Barrister Ken Ahia prepared and forged the purported WILL of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu (Deceased) on the instruction of Dr. Alex Otti as his client.
Brazenly and without shame, Dr. Alex Otti knowing that Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu died intestate instructed Barrister Odutola Adetunbo to deposit the fraud called WILL with the probate Registry to Lagos State, fourteen months after the death of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu.
Dr. Alex Otti master-minded the freezing of Chief Otisi J.N. Kalu's company and personal bank accounts with Diamond Bank Plc without any order of any court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.
