Int’l women Day: Ikpeazu felicitates with Abia Women

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has felicitated with the Wife of the Governor, Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu and the women of  Abia State, as they joined women all over the world to observe international women's day.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, the governor described women as the wheel of the society without which the society will not move forward.

According to him, “the theme of this year's celebration, 'press for freedom', is apt as it makes a strong call on women to come out and contribute more to the global pursuit of freedom and prosperity for all humanity”.

"It's also an opportunity for us as a state to celebrate the exploits and positive contributions of our women in different areas while also managing the home front," he added.

"Today,we celebrate our mothers, wives and daughters who are not relenting in ensuring a better society and I wish to reassure Abia women that they will continue to occupy a front row seat in the programs and activities of my administration which is totally committed towards building a better Abia for all Abians.”
