The building service and skill training component of the Federal/State Government youth job creation programme of N Power, N Build will effectively commence trainings today March 1, 2018 across the 6 designated centres in Abia State. Over 1600 Abia youths who registered for this programme will receive trainings in different skill areas like auto mechanics, furniture and joinery, masonry, tiling, electrical installations, Iron and mental fabrication, etc. the flagship training centre for Abia The Umuobiakwa Multi Disciplinary Skill Centre will serve as the southeast centre for the programme and has been selected for the national flag off centre by the Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo GCON SAN.
During the training, trainees will receive stipends for the training period of 6 months and will at the end of the programme receive equipments and funds to start up their own trade. The overarching goal of this programme beyound retooling our youths will go a long way in bridging the skill gap in these skill areas.
While we congratulate all successful beneficiaries, we are deeply grateful to the training centre managers for their commitment to commence and implement this programme. Abia is among the few states this programme will commence without hitches and this has been made possible due to the commitment and support of all and sundry.
